Christine Dwyer & Billy Harrigan Tighe to join the Second National Tour of WICKED

A new Elphaba and Fiyero will set foot on stage of the Second National Tour of WICKED, when Christine Dwyer and Billy Harrigan Tighe joins the company on May 2.  Christine will be replacing Anne Brummel as the ever-green girl from Oz, while Harrigan will be taking David Nathan Perlow’s place as Fiyero.

Dwyer returns to WICKED after touring as the understudy and standby for Elphaba on this tour for two years. Tighe also returns to WICKED after previously understudying Fiyero on this tour. He comes directly from the First National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles as Jean-Michel and is thrilled to be back in Oz.

Dwyer and Tighe join a cast that includes Tiffany Haas as Glinda, Marilyn Caskey as Madame Morrible and Paul Kreppel as The Wizard.

Teal Wicks to perform in WICKED Gala at the California Musical Theatre

Teal Wicks is back in west coast for one night. She was invited to perform at May 19, 2012 California Musical Theatre’s ‘Wicked’ gala in support to support the Music Circus Foundation.

Caroline Bowman to be in “At This Performance” on March 26

Caroline Bowman, understudy for the role of Elphaba in WICKED, will be part of the ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway standbys and understudies, “At This Performances”.  Presented by Musicals Tonight!, the 7 PM concert will be held at Off-Broadway’s The Lion Theatre.

Stephen DeAngelis will host the evening, which will feature musical direction and piano accompaniment by Eugene Gwozdz. Lucy Durack heading to Legally Blonde

After months -and years- of rumors Lucy Durack (@lucydurack) has finally announced she has changed her WICKED bubble for yet another pink and shinny ball gown: Lucy will be Australia’s new Elle Woods in the local production of Legally Blonde.

She will be starring alongside other former WICKED fellows, Rob Mills as Warner and David Harris as Emmett. Also staring, Erika Heynatz as Brooke and Cameron Daddo as Professor Callahan.

Legally Blonde the Musical will take you from the social whirl of California Campus life to Harvard’s Halls of Justice with Australia’s brightest new heroine (and of course, her Chihuahua, Bruiser). The verdict? This much fun shouldn’t be legal!

Legally Blonde premieres at the Sydney Lyric from October 5, 2012.

Natalie Daradich and Ashley Dawn Mortensen joins the First National Tour of WICKED

Natalie Daradich and Ashley Dawn Mortensen join the First National Tour of WICKED as stand-by for Glinda and understudy for Elphaba respectively.

Ms. Daradich will return only after a few months leaving the Second National Tour of the smashing-hit production while Ms. Dawn is a new face in the family.

Mariand Torres leaving WICKED

As announced on her Fan Page, Mariand Torres’s final performance will be January 29th. She posted:

Hi friends! Mariand here. I think some of you may already know, but I will January 29th will be my last day with Wicked! Being a part of this show has been a dream come true and you all have made it even more special. I will always be a part of the Wicked family would gladly come back at some point, but I am looking forward to being in one place for a while and exploring other projects. Thank you all for the love and support!

Mariand shared her wonderful talent in the First National Tour of WICKED for almost two years. We wish her the best in her new path.

Carla Stickler will be taking her place.
